Confessional Thursday | I'm Not Wearing Green

Thursday, March 17, 2016

Thursday.
March 17th.
[say what? St. Patty's Day?!]

That's right, it's Confessional Thursday!

I'll be linking up with Jessica at The Newly.

Today, I confess....

[] My newest favorite snack: baby carrots dipped in crunchy peanut butter {don't judge - it's pretty tasty}

[] I've never been a huge fan of St. Patrick's day in all honesty.  I like the color green, but I don't wear a lot of it.  Actually, I own one green cardigan.

[] ...and no, I'm not wearing the green cardigan today either. #pinchme

[] It felt so good to have a mommy/toddler playdate with my old co-worker last night.  At her house. With her 2.5 year old and my 2 year old. We swear, we are sisters from another mister - so much in common...it's really kind of odd.

[] You know those "memories" that Facebook likes to let you know that you posted about in the past? Like "6 years ago, you posted this picture {insert photo}?  I've been deleting all the past things that remind of my horrible past {i.e. the ex}  Who needs to know that stuff even existed?  Not me...

[] I've had a lot on my mind lately.  A lot of things have been weighing heavy on my mind. Sometimes I just wish I could hop on a plane, fly somewhere tropical, be pampered and served fruity drinks with little umbrellas. I swear, it's the umbrellas that make life that much better.

Your getting warm fuzzies just thinking about this umbrella in your drink...beach side, huh?!

[] I cried got teary eyed at the proposal on the Bachelor's last episode of this season.  I just love Lauren B. I know, it's all fake and made up (or at least thats what they tell me #ThanksGrandma) but it's so sweet to think there are guys out there like that. And relationships as cute as that. A girl can dream, right?!

[] Remember when I did a lot of cleaning one weekend?  Well I found several gift cards.  One of which was a Barnes and Noble one for $50 bucks!!!  I mean, I do like reading...certain genres of books of course.  So I took it upon myself and ordered 5 books the other night.  I'm excited that they all shipped yesterday and should be here soooooon!   Let the reading fest begin...

[] Lastly, I feel like the luckiest mom in the entire world to be blessed with such a sweet little girl.  Not that I didn't feel like that before, but the last two weeks, I've really felt a deeper feeling as having her for my daughter. I just couldn't imagine my life without her.  I mean, I could imagine life without a child {hello, condo in LA, NY, or waterfront Portland Oregon-duh, driving around in a not-so-kid friendly car}, but I couldn't imagine life without her as my child. Her and I belong together. Like peas and carrots; peanut butter and jelly; chocolate and caramel; coffee and scones...you get the point!

Have a fabulous St Patrick's day!

It's Time To Fess Up [Confessional Thursday]

Thursday, March 10, 2016

2 words: Confessional Thursday!
#wootwoot

We all know what that means - time to confess for this week!

This week, I confess...

[] There's still crushed up goldfish crackers from weeks ago on my backseats floor mat.  If anyone knows me well, knows that I always try and keep a very clean car since it drives me absolutely nuts to have a dirty car. Every day when I put my little in the backseat, I think to myself "I should really get that vacuumed up soon. That looks really gross."  It's a daily occurrence.  Hasn't happened yet.  But if this weekend shows a little sunshine, I will be getting that vacuumed up.

[] I'm a true Oregonian.  It was pouring down rain yesterday and I took my car through the car wash.  Yes, that's how we do it here in the NW.  My theory- I'd rather have a clean wet car, than a dirty wet car.

[] I've seriously been contemplating clip-in hair extensions.  Isn't that what all the cool kids do? I laugh when I think about the thought of this.  I just want longer, fuller hair - is that too much to ask?

[] I've cheated twice this week on the phase 1 of the South Beach diet.  Once on Monday when I took a very small bite of a small Tootsie Roll (doesn't really count, right?!) and then last night, by grandma made this amazing chicken dinner, asparagus, and cooked carrots. It was delicious! Only problem is...how do you say 'no' to your grandma's dinner she made, when there was noodles in the chicken dish?  So...I had a few noodles last night with dinner. Eh, you win some, you lose some.

[] I've been taking some 'me' time this week to think about things - life in particular.  It's great! No phone calls in the evening, early bed time...just spending time with my little.  I've been in a funk lately, this last weekend was super draining and emotional for me....that I've reached a point of time in need to 'breathe' and figure me out.

[] Yesterday was just what I needed - a lunch date with my old co-workers. THANK YOU LADIES!!!!

[] I've been breaking out {acne-wise} on my forehead. Like a freaking teenager. Ugh, I think it's adult acne.  I've got to figure this out - pronto!

[] I'm ever so slightly excited about Spring. I passed by the garden aisle...and it made me want to start planting flowers. Like yesterday.

And there you have it - Thursday Confessions!

I'll be linking up with Jessica over at The Newly - go link up too and share your confessions!

Happy Thursday friends!

Confessional Thursday: Target, Bachelor Ben, iTunes

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Jessica at The Newly for Confessional Thursday.

I confess...

[] I've been watching The Bachelor pretty religiously this season (which is usually rare for me, but my dear friend Jess has been writing some pretty insanely funny recaps...which keeps me following this season). Last episode with the fantasy suites....is it me, or does any one else get a little grossed out by this?  I mean, I know it's left up to our imagination of what happens behind closed doors but I prefer to think they watch movies, order food and make amazing ice cream sundaes together before falling asleep in their footie pajamas.  Sounds legit, right?!

[] I headed to Target after my trip to Eugene the other day for one thing, and one thing only: diapers.  I walked out of the store with 2 bags stuffed full of new clothes and a box of diapers.  I'd say it was a successful trip.

[] I have been watching 1 to 2 episodes of Fuller House since it came out on Netflix last Friday.  It's my guilty pleasure.

[] And how could I forget my reality TV favs? While working from home, I get caught up on all my Teen Mom OG and Keeping Up with The Kardashians episodes.

[] I'd also like to confess too that the hair and makeup situation the last few weeks...have been pretty non-existent.  I feel like such a bum.  I need to get out of this 'funk' and do the hair and makeup...even if it's just to sit at home with the puppies.

[] Since I purchased like 8 songs for my road trip up north to Tacoma, Washington on iTunes, I've been listening to them on repeat. Everyday. Is that weird? Does anyone else do that when they download new songs? Play the bejesus out of them until you're sick of hearing them? Or is that just me?

And there you have it...confessions from the last 2 weeks.

What are some of your confessions?

Shhh....I Had !A Ton of Carbs & Sugar Yesterday

Confessional Thursday...
One of my favs!

I'll be linking up with Jessica for Thursday Confessions.

Here are some confessions...

[] Up until Tuesday night...I had never spent the night in a hotel room. Alone.  Was I scared? Eh, not so much. I was super excited...I was about to be adulting on my own. I'm so growing up!

[] I hate public restrooms. I will purposefully not drink anything if I know I won't be around a good, clean bathroom (i.e. public restroom).

[] I still keep up with the Kardashians. I know, I know...the show has turned into a train wreck over the years, but I absolutely love Khloe and Kourtney.

[] I have a hoarding issue compulsive disorder with buying things because it was on sale...and never using it.  After cleaning the bedroom, I found close to 20 gift cards - Nordstrom, Craft Warehouse, JoAnn's Fabric, massages {yes, more than 1}, restaurants....the list goes on. Guess I'll be going shopping at Nordy's soon!

[] I exited 4 times off I-5 in the Tacoma/Olympia area in search of a Starbucks.  Let me rephrase that...a convenient, easy to get to drive-thru Starbucks. And was unsuccessful.  I was desperate for a latte. But, I prevailed! Finally! Let's just say...the drive home last night was way more successful with a coffee in hand.

[] Yesterdays food choices consisted of: carbs, sugar, coffee, salad, carbs, water, 1/2 sandwich, more carbs.  My body was on carb overload. Let the detox begin - next week after the final birthday of the month comes to an end.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!

Confessional Thursday...For I Have Sinned {Maybe}

Thursday, February 11, 2016

Logged in this morning and my old coworker/friend linked up with an awesome blog for Confessional Thursdays.
[Thanks Jess at Jessica's Little Bits of Joy]

Jess at The Newly is putting on a fab link party - come join!
Sounds interesting huh?!
I thought so too.

Here goes.

I Confess...

[] This morning I went to Starbucks again (shocker). Not because I had to, but because I enjoy pulling up to a window and having my coffee made for me.  I could very well come straight home from dropping the little one off at daycare and make my own...but seriously, it's not as good. Thankfully, I still have a ton of $$ left only gift cards.  Just hope it doesn't run out anytime soon....

[] While ordering my drink at Starbucks...I ordered an old-fashioned donut too. Best guilty pleasure on the ride home after a loooooong night with the little one last night! All alone. No child. No dogs. No phones. [This could be the culprit of the Michelin tire I've been carrying around] #momlife

[] While working at home this week...I've had old re-runs of Laguna Beach and Teen Mom running in the background.  Hey...back in the day, those shows rocked! [and still kinda do]

[]  I haven't styled my hair all week this week.  Ponytails it is. Wet hair and all.  That's how bad it's been this week feeling run down. #sicknessbegone

[] With that being said...I haven't put any makeup on either since Saturday. Eek.

[] Stopped by the store yesterday morning for some EmergenC. Ended up in the beauty aisle...just browsing.  You never know what you'll find.

[] I love Valentine's day. I just think red roses are so cliche.

There you have it.
Some of my week's confessions.
Boy...do I feel better.

True Confessions of A Mom

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

Oh Tuesday...how I love you!

My friend (& old co-worker) Jess @ Jessica's Little Bits of Joy had linked up with Momfessionals and I thought, why the heck not!

Being a mom is great and all, but let's me honest here mom's...we all have little things that slide when it comes to our own kids. I have a ton, I'm sure...actually I know I do.

Being a first time mom, I had a great idea of how I was going to parent and exactly how my kid was going to act.

Isn't that farthest from the truth. I laugh now looking back at my thinking...but hey, I was totally optimistic!

Here are my confessional mom-moments:

COATS

I laugh and cringe at the same time on this subject.  I know many moms out there will fight with their kids to wear their coats while others simply could care less.  I'm the one who could care less.  I mean, don't get me wrong here, I care that my child is warm and stays dry from this NW rain, but as we are shuffling out the door in the mornings...I don't care to have a struggle and full on meltdown with the issue.  I simply throw the coat in the diaper bag.  My child however, just loves the rain. (She is a true NW child).  I figure, eventually, she'll learn that it's much colder without the coat and *gasp* want to wear it outside.

Obviously, it was her idea to wear a coat this time. (go figure) #fashionstatement

MATERNITY JEANS

Even though I haven't been pregnant for almost 2 years now, I do have 1 pair of designer denim that I absolutely love and can't get rid of them!  Despite the fact that they have the elastic band...they are amazing designer denim (with a nice elastic band to make my stomach appear much slimmer). #thankyouverymuchjeans

LATE-NIGHT COUCH SURFER

This is another struggle I tend not to fight. It's been decided: my child is a night owl and does not require that much sleep.  Bedtime around here is usually 10. Sucky. And for some odd reason, she wakes up in the middle of the night to go sleep on the couch. Whatever. It's a phase, right? (one could only hope)

CLEAN CAR

Wanna know my secret for cleaning up the crushed up goldfish crackers and randomly dropped fruit snacks?  One word:  Emily.  She's my little car Dyson that cleans up after baby anytime there's messes. #thanksEm

This is Emily Grace. Also known as the car vacuum.

GERMS ARE NOT WELCOME

I used to be a hand sanitizer freak when it came to being clean and touching things in public. Turns out, now that I have a child, I'm the farthest from that. Whatevs. Grocery carts?  Nope, never wipe those down (unless my mom is with me). Hasn't gotten sick yet. Dropped pacifier?  Just wipe it off on the shirt and we're good to go.  Highchairs at restaurants - have you seen how sticky and dirty those things are?  Yeah, gross, but I don't wipe those down either unless its blatantly obvious that it needs a wipe down.

PACIFIERS

Yes.  I'll admit it.  We have a decorative bowl in the living room where we keep my little's stash of pacifiers.  We have like 20. But never in the bowl at once. Some in the care, in the bag, in the purse, under the couch, under her bed. It's never ending of hide-n-seek with these things.

TIME IS NOT OF ESSENCE

I may (or may not) take advantage of time when my mom watches my little one.  Or take the looooong way home just for some added extra quietness in the car.  I think it's normal as moms to just want some peace and quiet and some alone time.  Hey, when my mom says she'll watch my little one for a few hours....you better believe, I am going to do as much "extra" activities I can fit in.

Wheeew.  There.  I've confessed. I feel much better!

But seriously, life isn't all glitz and glam as much as much as we'd like it to be as mothers.  We all have our little secrets that help us get through life with little ones.

What are some of your confessions?!
